Mighty Buildings' creditors and shareholders get nothing after the 3D-printing builder's assignment

After paying senior secured lenders, the assignee says it has no assets left for anyone else. The documents give no dollar figures.

Mighty Buildings, the 3D-printed construction company, ended with nothing left for most of the people it owed: its assignee told creditors and equity holders that their claims "should be considered to have no value." Here's what happened, what it cost, and what went wrong.

Cost and outcome (as of Dec. 19, 2025)

The assignment

On May 23, 2025, Mighty Buildings, Inc., a Delaware corporation, made a general assignment for the benefit of creditors to MB (ABC), LLC, under California state law, according to the assignee's notice dated June 19, 2025. The notice told suppliers to discontinue any ongoing services to the company as of that date. (MB (ABC), LLC, Notice of Assignment, June 19, 2025)

Under the assignment, the company irrevocably transferred all its assets to the assignee, including equipment, inventory, receivables, cash, patents, patent applications, trademarks and trade names. The assignee took title to those assets but didn't assume any liabilities, including accounts payable and leases, and said it intended to liquidate the assets and distribute the net proceeds by legal priority. It stressed that, despite the similar name, it had no corporate affiliation with Mighty Buildings beyond the assignment. The claims and the result

Creditors had until Nov. 24, 2025, to file a proof of claim. The claim page promised a status update by Jan. 24, 2026, and the claim form covers goods sold, services performed, money loaned, equipment leased, taxes, wages owed and equity interests. On Dec. 19, 2025, the assignee issued a notice of no distribution. It said it had collected and liquidated the company's assets and, after distributing proceeds to holders of senior secured claims, had nothing left. No payments will go to junior secured, priority unsecured or general unsecured creditors, or to equity holders, and their claims or shares "should be considered to have no value." It advised them to consult a tax professional about "the Assignor's dissolution and the nonpayment of your claim." (MB (ABC), LLC, Notice of No Distribution, Dec. 19, 2025)

What the company was selling

The day before the assignment, Mighty Buildings' website advertised "Mighty Homes now for sale in Desert Hot Springs, CA" and what it called "the world's most complete 3D printed exterior wall system," factory-made panels it said could complete a wall assembly in as little as three days with a crew of four. Those are the company's claims. It listed a site office in Dubai as its latest project and cited June 2024 news items, including a HUD Innovative Housing Showcase appearance and a Time Magazine list of top GreenTech companies. What went wrong

  • Nothing for unsecured creditors. Suppliers, other unsecured creditors and shareholders recover nothing, the assignee says. (MB (ABC), LLC, Notice of No Distribution, Dec. 19, 2025)
  • No numbers on the record. The public notices don't state how much the assets fetched, how much senior lenders recovered, or how much was owed in total.
  • What we don't know yet: who the senior secured lenders were, who bought the assets and for how much, and what happened to the Desert Hot Springs homes.
